Renaud Lhoest

Renaud Lhoest is a French violinist who has distinguished himself by combining a number of varied genres including jazz, classical and avant-garde to create a unique style of music that has been hailed by music critics and connoisseurs. Though studying music composition for a period of time at the prestigious Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel, Lhoest would ultimately drop out because he thought his professors lacked a crucial understanding of how music should be treated. Not one to dwell on the sour feelings that studying composition left with him, Lhoest would go on to define himself and his music by upending many musical morays and writing compositions without any perceived direction or sonic mapping.
