Dan Rather is a journalist and news anchor from Wharton, Texas whose decades long career in reporting stretches back to the 1950s. Pirmarly known for anchoring CBS Evening News from 1981 to 2005, Rather became involved in a controversy about a weary news report that disputed President George W. Bush's Vietnam service in the National Guard--subsequently prompting Rather to leave CBS after 43 years of working for the network. Debuting his show Dan Rather Reports on AXS TV in 2006, Rather continues to tackle hard hitting issues and pertinent stories like the seasoned pro that he is.
