About
Based in Minneapolis, Melissa Jefferson is an alternative hip-hop artist who creates music under the name Lizzo. After releasing an album with the R&B trio The Chalice, she honed in on her own blend of smooth contemporary R&B and grittier rap and continued on as a solo artist. Lizzo released for her debut album, Lizzobangers, in 2013. The release of 2019's Cuz I Love You featured an array of pop-heavy bangers exploring themes of self-love, body positivity and modern romance.
