Also known as “El Taladro”, Club Atlético Banfield is a professional football club that competes in the Primera Division of the football league structure in Argentina. Established in 1986 by residents of British ancestry, the club made history when it won its first Primera Division title in 2009. With the Estadio Florencio Sola as its home stadium, the club is based in Banfield, Buenos Aires and has a rivalry with Club Atlético Lanús. Javier Zanetti, Cristian Leiva and James Rodriguez are a few notable alumni of this club.
