Art Alexakis is a singer/songwriter and guitarist who is famous as the lead singer and primary songwriter of the alternative rock band Everclear. Rising out of a tumultuous childhood and adolescence that was painted with death and violence, he rose above the noise and began playing music. After relocating to Los Angeles, San Francisco and eventually Portland, he founded Everclear in 1991. Channeling his turbulent past into lyrics, the band earned massive attention with its sophomore effort, 1995's Sparkle and Fade. As Alexakis continues to release new music with his long-time band, he also finds time to record his own songs and embark on solo tours.
