About
Sylvan Esso is a Durham, North Carolina-based avant-pop duo comprised of vocalist Amelia Meath and producer Nick Sanborn. Building groove-based tracks full of thumping synth lines and ethereal instrumentals, Sanborn is able to create an textured sonic tapestry for Meath's fluttering voice to float over. After playing a number of low profile regional shows and building some buzz for itself among fans of experimental pop music, Sylvan Esso released its debut single, "Hey Mami," in 2013 to lauded critical praise.
