Hailing from Maryland, Tamar Braxton is a contemporary R&B artist, actress and television personality who got her start in the early 1990s as part of her family band, The Braxtons. After releasing a few minor hits with her sisters, she ventured out on her own to release her eponymous LP with DreamWorks Records in 2000. Braxton reunited with her sisters for the reality television show Braxton Family Values, which first aired in 2011, before returning to music in 2013 with her sophomore album, Love and War.
