Remember Shakti

Remember Shakti is a quintet that blends various elements of traditional Indian music with jazz to create a cross-cultural sonic amalgam. The group was founded in 1997 and is fronted by noted English guitarist John McLaughlin and tabla player Zakir Hussain. Though the ensemble has released a number of interesting studio albums, beginning with the group's self-titled 1999 LP, Remember Shakti has primarily distinguished itself with its live shows that showcase each member's instrumental skills.
