Ken Hensley

Ken Hensley is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from London who is perhaps best known for his work as the keyboardist with the hard rock outfit Uriah Heep during the 1970s. During his ten-year tenure with Uriah Heep, he released his debut solo album, Proud Words On A Dusty Shelf, in 1973, and continued working on his own material while maintaining a busy recording schedule with the band, which would produce a staggering 13 studio albums from 1970 to 1980. He marked his departure from the band with the 1980 LP, Free Spirit, and would go on to work in several different outfits, including his own groups, such as Ken Hensley Band and Ken Hensley & Free Spirit. Using progressive, southern, psychedelic and even soft pop rock flavors, he continues to release new music, including his 2011 album Faster, with Ken Hensley & Live Fire.
