Yongpil Jo initially debuted as a guitarist of a rock band Atkins at a military camp stage of US Force in Korea in 1969. After many activities as a member of Kimtrio and Jo Yongpil & Shadow as well as Atkins, he eventually started as solo singer by releasing first album <i>A Woman outside the Window</i> in 1979. Whenever he released new album, he gained not only great recognition for his songwriting and performance, but also critical acclaim. In 1994, he became the first singer whose album sold over 10 million copies in Korea. Additionally, Yongpil Jo is referred to 'King of K-pop' and 'Eternal Oppa.' Despite his age 63, he released his 19th album <i>Hello</i> in 2013 and the song "Bounce" ranked at the top on Billboard K-pop Chart. His great hits include "Let's Travel," "The Mona Lisa," "Dream," "Q," "Seoul Seoul Seoul," "Come back to Port Busan," "Hello," "Leopard of Kilimanjaro," "Sad Love" and so on.
