Bixiga 70 is an afrofunk band from Brazil that blends various Latin influences with jazz, funk and afrobeat. Founded in 2010, the band quickly made a name for itself on the local show circuit, particularly after the release of its eponymous debut album in 2011. Brixiga 70 spent the next couple of years on the festival circuit, playing Virada Cultural in Sao Paulo and Felabration in Amsterdam. The band released its second LP, Bixiga 70 (2013), and continues to captivate audiences around the world with its infectious, rhythmic music.
