About
Taehwan Park is a South Korean swimmer who races for the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter and 1500-meter freestyle. When he was 4 years old, he started to learn swimming in order to cure asthma because a doctor recommended it. In 2004, the 15-year-old boy was selected as a Korean national swimmer for Olympic Games but he was disqualified in vain. However, since then, he won six gold medals in 2006 and 2010 Asian Games, two gold medals in 2007 and 2011 World Championships for Swimming, and one gold medal in 2008 Olympic Games. Taehwan Park, commonly called as 'Marine Boy,' is one of the most iconic athletes in Korea along with Yuna Kim and Yeonjae Son.
