Erik Segerstedt is a Swedish singer/songwriter and television personality who rose to prominence in 2006 as a competitor on the Swedish reality TV program Idol 2006. Though he didn't win the competition, Segerstedt was provided with a lofty amount of Scandinavian pop cultural recognition--helping him land a record contract and release his 2007 debut album, A Different Shade. Though Segerstedt's electronically bolstered sound hasn't truly found a fan base outside of Northern Europe, in Sweden and a few other of the Scandinavian countries, he has a decently sized following.
