About
Old Monk is a Brooklyn-based project that was formed by vocalist and guitarist Josh Carrafa and drummer Ian Burns in the late 2000s. The two artists collaborated on material while Carrafa lived in New York and Burns in Colorado, eventually releasing Old Monk's debut LP Birds of Belize, in 2012 after Burns relocated to the city and the pair teamed up with bassist Tsugumi Takashi. The band has since been showcasing its pop-infused brand of punk and indie rock music around Brooklyn and Manhattan.
