Taufiq Qureshi

Taufiq Quereshi is an established percussionist in the Indian and international music scene. Taufiq was born in the family of music legends - his father, the tabla maestro Ustad Alla Rakha Khan and his acclaimed brother Ustad Zakhir Hussain. Since he started with an intensive musical training from his father, Taufiq had a strong urge to follow the musical lineage of tabla. But he deviated only to broaden his horizons and acquire further knowledge in world music. Today, he has carved his own identity with his ability to fuse Indian classical rhythms with the beats of bongos, djembe, batajon, duff and vocal sounds.
