Aufgang

About

Aufgang is a New York City-based experimental band composed of three Frenchmen and classically trained musicians, Francesco Tristano, Rami Khalifé and Aymeric Westrich. With an affinity for both contemporary classical music and electronic textures, the band offers a traditional soundscape of piano and drums and fills in the crevices with synthesized sounds. After signing to the innovative French label InFiné, Aufgang released its eponymous debut album in 2009, followed by two 2010 EPs, Air On Fire and the remix record, Barock. The band dropped it sophomore studio album Istiklaliya, in 2013.
