Club Léon is a premiere professional Mexican football squad that competes in Liga MX. Founded in 1944, the club, nicknamed Los Esmeraldas (The Emeralds), competes at its home stadium, Estadio Léon. The club became Mexico's first "Campeonísimo" in 1949, by winning both the premiere league and the Mexico Cup in the same year.
