Mara Donis is a rock band from New York that formed in 1994 as Martha Dumptruck during the peak of alternative rock music. After releasing one album, the group disbanded in 1999 only to reform eight years later as Mara Donis. The band set out to record a second album and emerged with Altered Tunings, in 2013. Featuring many songs written back in the mid-1990s, the album offers hard alternative rock that echoes elements of grunge without overdoing the hard-soft vocals.
