Salvatore Accardo is a violinist from Turin, Italy who studied composition in the town of Naples during the 1950s. Giving his first professional recital at the age of 13, performing a difficult piece written by the violin virtuoso Paganini, Accardo distinguished himself at a young age, playing pieces that instrumental masters have difficulty playing. Spending time with various ensembles and orchestras throughout his long career, Accardo has built a reputation for himself as one of the premier solo Italian violinists of his generation who is able to perform the works of Paganini, Bach and Vavaldi with honor and grace.
