Makrand Deshpande is a renowned actor of Indian cinema and has been known for his off-beat roles in movies. But theater has always been his first love which was the reason behind establishing his own troupe in 1993 named Ansh Theatre Group. Makrand has conceptualized around 30 plays with brilliant actors. His plays engages the audience in a way that makes them feel to be a part of the act. The troupe's famous play is 'Sir Sir Sarla' that even today gathers a houseful attendance. The play portrays the relationship between a professor and his students, and the love angle that changes the lives of the characters in the play.
