Michel Jonasz is a French singer/songwriter whose characteristic jazz songs have made him a household name amid the international jazz scene. Born to Hungarian parents, Jonasz left school at the age of 15 to make a go of becoming a professional jazz pianist. First gaining recognition with the band The Lemons in 1966, Jonasz would go on to launch his solo career in 1968, almost becoming an overnight success story. Since then, Jonasz has grown into a respected and revered musician who acts as an old guard of sorts within the multifaceted French jazz scene.
