Denmark-based artist Marie Key Kristiansen is an indie pop singer/songwriter who got her start in the early 2000s under the shortened pseudonym Marie Key. Though she had been fronting her own outfit, the Marie Key Band, since 2002, she rose to fame with the 2012 release of her debut solo single, "Se nu herhen." The track garnered attention for her first full-length effort, I byen igen, which in turn earned her a widespread national following. By the time she dropped her acclaimed sophomore effort, Der her dage, in 2012, Key had established herself as one of Denmark's premier pop acts.
