MISIA is a Japanese solo singer born in Nagasaki. MISIA is known for her powerful singing voice and her singing pitch range of over 5 octaves. MISIA’s singing style is based on R&B, but it is inspired by gospel that she experienced at a local church in her childhood. MISIA debuted in 1998 and she became a representative of Japanese singers when her 7th single “Everything” was released in 2000. “Everything” was the theme song to very popular Japanese TV drama “Yamato Nadeshiko,” and it captured hearts of not only music fans but also TV viewers.
