T. M. Krishna is recognized as one of the finest vocalists in Carnatic music industry. With an enigmatic voice that woos audience from all walks of life, Krishna is described mostly as an artist who adheres to the traditional classical form yet has an open-minded outlook to contemporary Western music or film scores. He has published two books, and started significant establishments like Jnanarnava Trust, Sumanasa Foundation and Kalachara Marumalarchi; all with the sole purpose of spreading nationwide awareness of Carnatic music and promoting the unexplored culture and folk music of remote rural villages in India. It's his effort combined with the vision of eminent artists that saw the beginning of Swanubhava: a Carnatic music fair where unheard artists and budding talents get the privilege of gaining musical guidance from some of the stalwarts of the field.
