Though Thomas Petersson is primarily known as the bassist and occasional singer of the popular rock band Cheap Trick, the talented songwriter also maintains an on-again, off-again solo career. Gaining notoriety during the early days of Cheap Tick for being the first musician to play a custom made 12 string bass, Petersson would eventually leave the band in 1980, releasing his solo debut shortly after and hitting the road with his own band to tour the North American club scene. Rejoining the ranks of Cheap Trick in 1988, Petersson still maintains a solo career and can occasionally be found in various music halls playing his own characteristically stylized form of blues-inspired rock music.
