The Field is the stage name of the Swedish microhouse producer Alex Willner. Willner creates hypnotic, groove-based tracks that go heavy on repetition and occasional melodic flourishes. The Field's debut album, From Here We Go Sublime, brought him widespread critical plaudits and crossover success into a fan base generally unfamiliar his style of ambient house music. While his cross-genre appeal has caused some backlash from the insular electronic music community, Willner's deft use of subtle atmospherics has proved a sure-fire crowd-pleaser to music fans of all genres.
