The Mary Onettes is a four-piece indie rock outfit from Sweden that uses elements of post punk and indie pop in its music. Formed in 2000, the band come together over a shared interest in both the the 1980s new wave scene and the pop/rock of the 1990s. After releasing its eponymous debut album in 2007, The Mary Onettes earned acclaim for its nostalgic yet modern synthpop sound and went on to tour Europe and the US. The band released its third studio effort Hit the Waves, in 2013.
