There is a lack of modern soul groups that're popular amongst the youth culture. That's not to say soul music is not relevant anymore--it's just as important as it has ever been--but there are few bands out there creating characteristic soul music. There are a few electronic producers out there, though, that have put a distinctive modern spin on the soul genre by sampling old records and adding newfangled composition techniques to make the music more palatable for today's rabid listening public. One of these soul influenced electronic beat laborers is the Southern California-based producer Bahwee. His knack for blending old school soul with modern electronic sounds is nearly unmatched by any other musician on the scene today and an opportunity to see Bahwee perform in the flesh is not to be missed.
