Dead Fish is a Brazilian hardcore band that originated in 1991 in Vitória, Espírito Santo. They are recognized for their dynamic live performances and lyrics that address social issues. Initially formed by a group of friends influenced by bands such as Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, and Ramones, they were originally named "Stage Dive." Their rise to fame began with the release of their album Sirva-se in 1998, followed by the influential Zero e Um in 2004, which garnered them the MTV Brazil award for Best New Artist. Although the band has experienced numerous lineup changes, including the exit of founding member Nô in 2009, vocalist Rodrigo Lima has consistently been a central figure. Their body of work features significant albums like Contra Todos (2009) and Ponto Cego (2019), with a new release titled Labirinto da Memória scheduled for 2024. In celebration of their 30th anniversary in 2020, Dead Fish introduced limited-edition beers. The band remains a vital force in Brazil's hardcore music scene, upholding their DIY principles while addressing themes such as politics and personal freedom.
