About
Step Afrika! is a dance company that's dedicated to the percussive form of dancing called "stepping," where a dancer's entire body is used as an instrument to produce sounds through footsteps and hand claps. Formed in South Africa in 1994, Step Afrika! relocated to the United States in 1996 and in 2006 it took up permanent residents at the Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC.
