German DJs/producers Raphael Krickow and Gordon Hollenga joined forces in 1995 and were among the first to mesh old disco vinyl with modern house music during their sets. Developing a characteristic sound that focused heavily on getting the crowd dancing, the two quickly became a mainstay on the German club scene. The two DJs are famous almost as much for their matching hairstyles and dark aviator sunglasses worn during every show, as for their music. Through this standard image and style, The Disco Boys have garnered an impressive amount of popularity with fans and musicians alike, with many respected artists, like Bootsy Collins and The Bee Gees, requesting remixes.
