The indie pop band Lonely Drifter Karen is fronted by Viennese-born singer/songwriter Tanja Frinta and comprised of a cocktail of European-born artists. Joined by Spanish vocalist Marc Melià Sobrevias as well as French musicians Maxime Malon on drums and Clément Marion on guitar, Frinta started the band as a solo project in Sweden and slowly collected a supporting band as she traveled through Europe. Lonely Drifter Karen released its debut album Grass Is Singing, in 2008 with an dream pop sound, but as the band continued to evolve, elements of electronic and rock began weaving into its indie style, most notable on the band's third album, Poles.
