Marc Ribot is a guitarist from Newark, New Jersey who has defined himself as an adept guitar player capable of straddling the genre gamut and playing a number of varied styles including free jazz, no wave and hardcore punk. Having worked as a session musician for a number of well known musicians including Tom Waits, T-Bone Burnett, Elvis Costello and Elton John, Ribot has also maintained an active solo career and released a number of well-received LPs as band leader beginning with 1990's Rootless Cosmopolitans.
