Meeting at the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2003, Alex Fish and Noah Becker began blending their individual takes on house music shortly after, eventually forming the CITRIC music label in New York. While Becker left the project to pursue his own solo work in 2008, the two DJs still put on a weekly CITRIC showcase and Becker continues to perform under the Holosound moniker.
