Formed in 1967, Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen was the quintessential country rock band and its founder, George Frayne was referred to as 'Commander Cody.' After consistent gigs at clubs and bars, they got their big break by Paramount Records. In 1971, they released their first album, Lost in the Ozone, and their single" Hot Rod Lincoln", quickly climbed up the charts and featured in the Billboard singles in 1972. The song is remembered fondly till date
