Formed in Oklahoma City in 1993, The Flaming Lips is a rock band with some serious psychedelic undercurrents. The band's live shows are known to involve costumes, confetti, giant hamster balls and what's considered by many to be amazing music. Though front man Wayne Coyne is notorious for his ego, trash-talking and general belief that he is God, the band does create well-crafted songs and puts on if nothing else, an entirely entertaining live show.
