Sonia Rao is a Los Angeles based pop singer/songwriter who gained popularity after appearing on the televised talent competition The Voice in 2011. Though Rao didn't win, she received noted attention and was able to parlay her recognizable television presence into a respectable recording and performing career. Having appeared at a number of clubs in Southern California and released well-produced studio material, including her 2013 sophomore album Los Angeles Part 1, Rao hasn't let the taste of defeat on The Voice deter her from following her musical aspirations.
