Fronted by former Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, Black Light Burns is an alternative rock band with alternative metal influences. Formed in 2005, the band is the result of a solo endeavor of Borland, who had seen several of his projects fail since he left Limp Bizkit in 2001. He began his debut solo effort with Danny Lohner, John Bates, Josh Freese and Josh Eustis, the future lineup of Black Light Burns. The resulting record was 2007's Cruel Melody, a dark departure from Limp Bizkit's material.
