Formed in the garages of Santa Cruz, lo-fi folk-psyche band The Mantles has been creating catchy tunes since 2007. The four piece prides itself on producing a style of music that can't be categorized as one genre, blending elements of 60s jangle, 80s New Zealand rock and a touch of folksy twang. While the bay area music scene may offer a plethora of lo-fi garage bands to choose from, The Mantles stands out with its evident knowledge of music history and its band members' ability to play their instruments, often a rarity in the lo-fi movement.
