Minnesota based trio Retribution Gospel Choir is known for its short catchy pop songs that blend somewhat abruptly into psychedelic free-form. Conceived in 2007, the band quickly grabbed the attention of Mark Kozelek of Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon fame, who offered to produce the band's debut album. With this support, the trio rose to fame and signed to the indie super-label Sub Pop. With two albums and extensive touring under its belt, Retribution Gospel Choir has gained an audience accustomed to the band's epic--and very loud--live performances.
