Amy Sedaris

Best known for her character Jerri Blank from Comedy Central's series Strangers with Candy, Amy Sedaris is a comedian, actress and author from Endicott New York who got her start in different comedy troupes around Chicago. She made her major television debut in 1995 on Exit 57, a sketch comedy show on Comedy Central, along with Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello. Her breakthrough performance of Jerri Blank on the Strangers with Candy, a series she co-wrote with both Colbert and Dinello, inspired the 2006 feature-length movie of the same named. In addition to her work on various television series and talk shows, Sedaris has also appeared in minor roles in a number of films including Elf and School of Rock. She is also the author of a monthly advice column in The Believer, and satirical DIY books such as I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence, published in 2006 as well as her book Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People!, published in 2010.
