Midori Hirano

Kyoto born composer/producer Midori Hirano began playing piano at age 5, which eventually led her to study classical piano at university. However, in 2008, Hirano realized it was the the electronic nuances of music that she was most passionate about and thus decided to move to Berlin, where she hoped to explore this aspect of music fully. While her compositions are based around traditional instrumentation and arrangements, she includes sampling, looping, distorted vocals and subtle electronic sounds, which lend her music a haunting, ethereal aesthetic.
