The second solo project of Matthew Houck (the first was Fillup Shack), Phosphorescent was conceived in Athens, Georgia, but eventually relocated to Brooklyn. Creating indie country with nods to big beat and folk, Houck has found a diverse fanbase and has received tremendous acclaim since his first full length under the Phosphorescent moniker in 2003.
