The Acorn

Formed in Ottawa in 2002 by Rolf Klausener, primarily as an excuse to teach himself home recording, the Acorn grew from a solo project to a five-piece and became a presence on Canada's quickly growing indie music scene. The band has a tendency toward self-imposed isolation to write its songs/record its albums in places like abandoned cabins, and the result is fittingly haunting folk rock with tinges of optimistic pop.
