Members of the celebrated Elephant 6 collective, that spawned '90s indie rock bands including Neutral Milk Hotel, Of Montreal and Apples in Stereo, Elf Power was formed in Athens, GA in '94. While the five-piece opened for many hit acts, including R.E.M, and consistently received critical acclaim with the release of every album, Elf Power never garnered the widespread fame that the other Elephant 6 collective bands did, but with its psych-pop influenced indie rock, the band continues to tour and receive critical acclaim to this day.
