Formed in 2006 House Vs. Hurricane is a Melbourne-based electronic/hardcore band that earned national recognition for winning the 2008 FATE Battle of the Bands competition. Featuring 144 band from all over Australia, the contest gave House Vs. Hurricane momentum to release its debut EP Forfeiture, which was received with critical acclaim for its fusion of hardcore, screamo and trance music. After spending the rest of the year touring the country, the band set out to record its first full-length effort in 2009 and released the finished product, Perspectives in 2010. Despite undergoing several lineup changes in a short time frame, the band has maintained its unusual mix of electronic and punk sounds.
