Throughout the 80s, several English musicians were combining a rock 'n' roll approach to music with an electronically inspired composition technique. The result was an extremely original sound and one of the groups to capitalize off this was the Romford based outfit Underworld. The act officially started releasing music in 1986 and though the group achieved popularity rather slowly, by the mid 90s Underworld was one of the largest electronic bands to emerge out of Europe. The band is still at it and despite slightly evolving its sound, Underworld is undeniably intelligent electronic music that's easy to dance to.
