About
Led by soul and jazz veteran Alan Evans, the Alan Evans Trio is a jazz fusion outfit that blends funk, soul and R&B into its sound. Co-founder and former songwriter and drummer for the soul/jazz band Soulive, Evans joined guitarist Danny Mayer and Beau Sasser on organ to create dark and funky rhythm and blues. The Alan Evans Trio, also known as AE3, created its smokey sound on its 2012 debut album titled Drop Hop, capturing the attention of Soulive fans and novice jazz listeners alike.
