The Shotgun Wedding Quintet

A shotgun wedding, or forced marriage, occurs when one or both parties is married without his or her consent or due to an unplanned pregnancy. This still occurs commonly in South Asia, Eastern Asia, Africa and the Middle East. It makes sense, then, that hip-hop jazz outfit, The Shotgun Wedding Quintet, is named after this slightly strange manner of civil union. The group combines two styles of music, jazz and hip-hop, and actually manages to do a good job of doing so. Calling San Francisco home, the Quintet has done a dutiful job of making its rounds in many of the City by the Bay's numerous jazz and hip-hop clubs.
