Antony and Cleopatra is a tragedy written by one of the greatest minds in the world of literature- William Shakespeare. Set in the time when Rome was going through a turbulent phase, it follows the lives of the Roman general, Mark Antony and Cleopatra, the queen of Egypt whose undying love for each other is soured by jealousy, ego and politics. The play was premiered in around 1607 in London. Even after so many centuries, the play still manages to captivate its audiences with its twisted plot, realistic settings and thoughtfully crafted characters.
